Upcoming Saturday, February 10, 2018: Sponsored by BUF’s Social Economic Justice Council (SEJC) LAURA LOVE BACK IN BELLINGHAM Concert

Join us as Laura Love brings her power-house voice and powerful presence to Bellingham after an absence of more than a decade. Laura gets people on their feet and lifts hearts on the long march to a more just and peaceful world.

Love’s music is wide-ranging and impossible to contain within any one genre. Acoustic Guitar Magazine writes of her: “….highly original style she calls Afro-Celtic: an improbable but irresistible hybrid of hip-grinding rhythms and folk melodies, electric funk bass and Appalachian-inflected vocals…It’s a new sound, for sure, but one that clearly shows its roots, making the band equally welcome in rock clubs and on bluegrass/Americana stages…”

Laura is currently recording a new CD of original songs which will be released Late Winter/early Spring of 2018. Laura Love will be accompanied by master guitarist, Terry Hunt.

The concert will take place at 1207 Ellsworth Street at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship at 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

$22 (General Advance) / $12 (Student Advance)

After-Service Brunch: On many Sundays after service, we announce an invitation to head to a local restaurant as a small group for a reasonably priced meal, fellowship, and conversation.

Coffee House: This casual event, offered several times during the church year on Friday evenings, gives members and friends an opportunity to share their original poetry, perform music, and enjoy each others' talents. Suitable for older children and adults, it's been called "The Best Coffee House in Bellingham."

Holiday Breads Extravaganza: Twice a year, the Sunday before Christmas and Easter Sunday, BUF's best bakers strut their holiday yeast breads and other coffee-hour delectables at a festive, specially decorated event immediately after the Sunday service.

Easter Egg Dyeing: This family activity, usually held the Saturday before Easter Sunday, provides the opportunity to be creative while celebrating spiritual themes of resurrection, renewal, and rebirth. Easter-Egg dyeing at BUF maintains a time-honored cultural tradition that continues to cultivate artistry, joy, and delight across the generations.

Everybody's Birthday, usually held in spring after a Sunday service, offers even the shyest among us a chance to be celebrated with cakes, candles, and song. Birthday boys and girls age 9 days to 99 years seat themselves at tables according to their birthday months, where they're feted by a tasty assortment of cakes and other treats. As always, delicious options are provided for those with dietary allergies.
